Sistema corrección de PhiDP y KDP

Abstract

El Diferencial de Cambio de Fase (ΦDP) es una de las variables que se obtiene entre las componentes polarizadas en un radar meteorológico. Es de significativa importancia que se realice una corrección a la misma ya que su variable derivada, el diferencial de cambio de fase específico (KDP), se puede utilizar para la estimación cuantitativa de precipitación dado que es un buen indicador del agua líquida dentro de un volumen de medición. En este informe se muestra que con herramientas de software libre se puede corregir el ΦDP y calcular el KDP de forma simple utilizando técnicas descriptas en la bibliografía, las que fueron adaptadas a los datos obtenidos por los radares de Anguil y Paraná durante el periodo 2009-2011.

Differential Phase Shift (ΦDP) is one of the variables obtained between polarized components of weather radar. it is very important that it be corrected since its derivative variable, the specific differential phase shift (KDP), can be used in the estimation of precipitation since it is a good indicator of liquid water within a volume measurement. This report shows that with free software tools, the ΦDP can be corrected and the KDP can be calculated using simple techniques described in the bibliography, adapting them to the data obtained from the Anguil and Paraná radars during the 2009-2011 period.
